Today's video is a little behind the scenes look at an evening of moving sows around. We have "maternity suites" for our pasture raised sows that have piglets or are close to farrowing, and "bachelor suites" for our two boars Melvin and Arnold. Each lady gets to stay with a lucky man when it's time to breed them again. Running a pasture based and grassfed system, it is typically pretty challenging sorting out the ladies and getting them exactly where they need to be! The second part of the video is us feeding the feeder pigs (one of our groups where your pasture raised pork comes from) and checking on one of our grassfed beef herds on our home property.
