INGREDIENTS
- 1 Lb. 1915 Farm Grassfed Caveman Blend w/ Liver and Heart
- 1 green bell pepper, ribs and seeds removed, finely diced
- 1 yellow onion, finely diced
- 3 ribs of celery, finely diced
- 4-5 garlic cloves, finely minced or grated
- Cajun or Creole seasoning blend
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup long grain white rice, cooked separately
INSTRUCTIONS
Cook 1 cup of long grain white rice according to package directions in a separate pot or rice cooker. Keep warm until ready to mix with the rest of the ingredients.
Place a large skillet over medium heat, add a dash of olive oil, followed by the caveman blend ground beef. Let it sear a few minutes then break it up into smaller chunks and crumbles.
Add the 'holy trinity' – green pepper, celery, and onion. Season with Cajun seasoning blend (some of them can be very salty so be careful and taste as you go). Add the garlic and stir until fragrant. Continue breaking up the meat into fine crumbles as the vegetables soften.
Add 1/2 chicken broth and bring to simmer. Cover with a lid, slightly cracked, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes over lowest heat.
Remove lid, then add the cooked white rice and stir to combine. Serve as a side dish or easy weeknight main dish!
