This cozy pasta comes together super quickly and is perfect for busy weeknights or when you’re feeling a little run down. Pasture raised Italian chicken sausage is browned and cooked until slightly crispy, before being tossed with tender pasta cooked in our rich, nourishing bone broth. It’s hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor – while the bone broth gives you that extra boost of nutrients your body will thank you for. Simple, wholesome, and incredibly satisfying.
Serves 3-4
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Lb. Pasture Raised Italian Chicken Sausage (our Italian Pork Sausage works great too)
-
1 cup dry ditalini pasta (or small noodle of your choice)
- 1.5 cups 1915 Farm Pasture Raised Chicken Broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (or half n half)
- 1/3 cup freshly, finely grated parm (or pecorino)
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper for garnish, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
Place a skillet over cook medium heat, once hot, add the sausage and cook, breaking up into crumbles with a wooden spoon, until cooked through and slightly crispy. Meanwhile, bring broth to a boil (use a lid to avoid too much evaporation).
Add pasta and cook according to package directions, stirring often to prevent sticking. Once pasta is cooked and there's just a bit of broth remaining, add the butter and heavy cream. Stir to combine and turn off the heat. Add freshly grated parm and stir again. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary (depending on the broth you're using, you may need to add a touch more salt – just be sure to taste after adding the cheese, since it's salty on its own).
Serve in pasta bowls with more parm to garnish, and a few cracks of black pepper. Enjoy!
