The perfect blend of 1915 Farm Grassfed Beef and Pasture Raised Smoked Bacon (70/30 split) makes these burgers out-of-this-world delicious. That's right, the bacon is blended right into our conveniently pre-formed 3/4 lb. burger patty. It's smoky, it's juicy, it's incredibly tasty. Add our signature Grill Seasoning, a slice of melty cheddar cheese, creamy 'secret sauce,' crisp butter lettuce, a plump tomato slice, thinly sliced red onion, some crunchy, spicy jalapeño, a buttered brioche bun – and you've got yourself a showstopper of a burger!!! Let's get cooking.
INGREDIENTS
For the Burgers –
- 1 package of 1915 Farm Grassfed Beef & Bacon Burger Patties
- 1915 Farm Grill Seasoning
- 1 Tbsp pasture raised lard, from 1915 Farm Pasture Raised Pork Fat, or your favorite high-heat cooking oil, like avocado oil
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns
- Softened butter for spreading on buns
- Secret sauce (recipe below)
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- Butter lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg works too)
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Jalapeño, thinly sliced into rounds, optional
For the Secret Sauce –
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 dill pickle spear, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- pinch of cayenne pepper
- kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Remove burgers from packaging, pat to dry, and season liberally on both sides with 1915 Farm Grill Seasoning. In the meantime, mix up the secret sauce.
In a small bowl, add all ingredients for secret sauce and mix well to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Place a large cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Once pan is hot, add about 1 Tbsp of pasture raised lard (or your favorite high-heat cooking oil like avocado oil). Once the fat has heated through, place two burger patties on the pan and do not move for about 4-5 minutes. Once the first side is nicely seared and golden brown, flip burger patties with a spatula and cook for another 2-3 minutes, placing slices of cheddar cheese on top and cooking until desired doneness is reached. Set aside and keep warm. Cook the final two burgers and keep warm until ready to serve.
Split burger buns open and spread with softened butter. Place under a broiler for 3-4 minutes, until lightly toasted and golden.
To serve, spread secret sauce on bottom bun, followed by burger patty, lettuce, tomato, onions, and jalapeño slices. Don't forget to sauce the top bun before finishing assembly. Enjoy!
