Shredded Grassfed Beef Tacos Recipe

Meet your new go-to summer dinner: Shredded Grassfed Beef Tacos! Just toss everything in the slow cooker or Instant Pot and let it do the work – no fuss, no heat blasting the kitchen. The result? Tender, flavorful grassfed beef that melts in your mouth. It’s perfect for feeding a crowd, making ahead for a busy week, or having delicious leftovers ready to go. Pile it into warm tortillas, top with your favorites, and dinner is served!

INGREDIENTS

For the Beef –

  • One 1915 Farm Grassfed Beef Roast (chuck roast, top sirloin roast, rump roast)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup 1915 Farm Beef Bone Broth
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 packet of your favorite taco seasoning (the Cholula brand smoky chipotle was fantastic with the bold beef flavors)

For the Guacamole –

  • 2-3 ripe avocados, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced into rounds
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, finely minced
  • 1/4 of a red onion, very finely minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Kosher salt to taste

To Serve –

  • Taco sized tortillas, flour or corn
  • Lime wedges
  • Cilantro 
  • Salsa or hot sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

Place roast into slow cooker or Instant Pot. Season with kosher salt and the contents of the taco seasoing packet. Add orange juice, beef bone broth, and sliced onions. 

For Slow Cooker – cook on LOW for 9 hours, or HIGH for 6 hours. Roast is done when very tender and shreddable. 

For Instant Pot – if needed, slice roast in half to fit in the Instant Pot. Cook on HIGH pressure for 1 hour 15 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally.

In the meantime, combine all ingredients for guacamole and refrigerate, covered, until ready to use.

Once the roast is done, remove to a cutting board and shred the meat. Transfer meat back to the cooking liquid and mix to combine. Keep warm until ready to serve.

To Serve – pile shredded beef onto warmed tortillas, top with guacamole, fresh cilantro, salsa or hot sauce, with lime wedges on the side. Enjoy!
